Zoning Board of Adjustment Meeting minutes – DRAFT
July 13, 2021
CALL TO ORDER:
Turner Lewis called the meeting to order at 7:05 P.M. Planning Commissioners present were Turner Lewis, Bill Pusey, Kaitlin Stone, Tommy Fox & Thomas Tefft. Also present were Tina Blais, & Andrea Rand.
CHANGES AND ADDITIONS TO THE AGENDA:
Lewis made a motion to add accepting the minutes of the 1/4/21, 1/12/21, 1/13/21, & 2/16/21 meetings as written. Stone 2nd. Motion passed 5-0
APPROVAL OF PREVIOUS MEETING MINUTES:
Lewis made a motion to accept the minutes from 1/4/21 as written. Pusey 2nd. Motion passed 3-0 with Stone and Tefft abstaining. Stone made a motion to accept the minutes as written for 1/12/21. Fox 2nd. Motion passed 4-0 with Tefft abstaining. Fox made a motion to accept the 1/13/21 meeting minutes as written. Lewis 2nd the motion. Motion passed 3-0 with Stone and Tefft abstaining. Fox made a motion to accept the meeting minutes for 2/16/21 as written. Stone 2nd the motion. Motion passed 4-0 with Tefft abstaining.
NEW BUSINESS:
Lewis explained to the commissioners that a complaint was made about two portable carports that were erected on the side of 955 Branch Road. He asked Andrea Rand who lives at 1337 Branch Rd if she would like to explain her concerns. Rand stated that she had a few different concerns. Gray water going into the brook that the tents are very close too and that they were very unsightly and not often maintained with all the wind and rain they sage and blow open. She is afraid that is going to become a permanent fixture. She does state that when she came to the Town Office to ask to get on the ZBA agenda Brad Rafus had talked to the land owner and told them they had to take down the one closest to the road. Discussion ensued. The3 board decided that there wasn’t anything that could legally be done about it. Lewis volunteered to write a letter to the land owners asking what there long term plans were for the carports and ask if they were bathing & doing laundry in the brook. Rand stated that she has had a conversation with Sue Kelly the Town Health Officer.
