PLANNING COMMISSION PUBLIC HEARING/REGULAR MEETING MINUTES
July 12, 2016

 

The public hearing to consider the J.I.F. subdivision request was called to order at 7:38 p.m. Planning Commission members Sirean LaFlamme, Bill Pusey, and Kaitlin Stone were present; Turner Lewis was absent. Also in attendance were Thomas Wagener (Surveyor), and Robbin Gabriel.

Chair Sirean LaFlamme read the hearing notice for the record, as follows: “Pursuant to 24 VSA §4464(a)(1)(A) notice is hereby given that the Halifax Planning Commission will conduct a public hearing on July 12, 2016 at 7:00 PM in the Town Office at 246 Branch Road, West Halifax, Vermont, to consider the following: Request of J.I.F. Investment Co., Inc., for Final Plat approval to allow a 93.2+/- acre lot to be subdivided into 4 lots; Lot 2-1 = 21+/- acres, Lot 2-2 = 20+/- acres, Lot 2-3 = 15+/- acres, Lot 2-4 = 35+/- acres, at 449 Thurber Road; Rural Residential District; Tax parcel THR.0449. A copy of the application and map is available for review at the Town office during regular office hours. Participation in the public hearing is a prerequisite to the right to appeal.”

Commissioners had reviewed details of the proposal at their June 14th meeting. Surveyor Thomas Wagener submitted a certified copy of the final plan, and Bill Pusey made a motion to approve the 449 Thurber Road subdivision proposal as submitted. Kaitlin Stone seconded the motion, which passed, 3-0. The Planning Commission will provide a written decision within 45 days. Wagener asked about the deadline for providing a Mylar and deed descriptions to the town; applicants have 180 days from the date of approval to submit those documents.

Other Business

LaFlamme announced the Brian McNeice had submitted a letter advising of his resignation from the Planning Commission and Zoning Board of Adjustment. A candidate search is underway; interested persons are encouraged to write or speak to Selectboard members.

LaFlamme made a motion to approve the June 14th regular meeting minutes as written. Pusey seconded the motion, which passed, 3-0.
