The public hearing to consider the John Rossetti subdivision request was called to order at 7:15 p.m. Planning Commission members Turner Lewis, Kaitlin Stone, Patty Dow, and Alice Aldrich were present. Bill Pusey was unable to attend. Also present were John Rossetti, William Ashcroft, Valerie Ashcroft, Jason Ashcroft, and Robbin Gabriel.

Vice-Chair Turner Lewis read the hearing notice for the record, as follows: “Pursuant to 24 VSA §4464(a)(1)(A) notice is hereby given that the Halifax Planning Commission will conduct a public hearing on May 9, 2017 at 7:15 PM in the Town Office at 246 Branch Road, West Halifax, Vermont, to consider the following: Request of John Rossetti for Final Plat approval to allow a 20+/- acre lot to be subdivided into 2 lots; Lot 1 = 8.5+/- acres, Lot 2 = 11.3+/- acres, at 5231 Jacksonville Stage Road; Rural Residential District; Tax parcel JCS.5231. A copy of the application and map is available for review at the Town office during regular office hours.”

Commissioners had reviewed details of the subdivision request at their April 11^th, 2017, meeting. Lewis invited questions and comments. Rossetti told Aldrich that he would be building on the 11.3+/- acre parcel; the 8.5+/- acres already has two houses on it. Has anyone come forward with comments?, asked Lewis. Commissioners responded with a “no.” We’ve previously considered this application, said Lewis; I see no reason we can’t proceed. Is that okay? Responses were affirmative. The secretary noted that an approved driveway permit has now been submitted. Alice Aldrich made a motion to approve the Rossetti subdivision application as presented. Kaitlin Stone seconded the motion, which passed, 4-0. The Planning Commission will provide a written decision within 45 days.
