Call to Order

The meeting was called to order at 7:02 p.m. Planning Commission members Turner Lewis, Bill Pusey, and Kaitlin Stone were present; Jason Ashcroft and Alice Aldrich were unable to attend. Stephen Chait, Bob Leete, Robbin Gabriel, and Tina Blais were also present.

Changes and Additions to Agenda

Lewis told the commissioners that Bob Leete was in attendance to provide an update on the Enhanced Energy Project.

Approval of Previous Meeting Minutes

Pusey made a motion to approve the May 14^th regular meeting minutes as written. Stone seconded the motion, which passed 3 – 0.

New Business

Enhanced Energy Project – Bob Leete

Bob Leete gave a brief report on the information that he learned on the Enhanced Energy Project. Leete stated that the bottom line was that the state wanted everyone to participate in the program but there just wasn’t anything that pertains to our town because of its size. He talked briefly about the Stretch building code but stated that we do not have enough development.

Lewis asked if he had any information on alternative power, such as solar, wind, water. Leete stated they recommend that information go up on the town web site or some kind of newspaper informing people of Energy VT. Leete found that you can do some of your own insulation and caulking rather than using a contractor and still get reimbursed.

Leete states that using Energy Vt is our town’s only option.

Gabriel asks several questions pertaining to the development and goals of the energy project.

Chait suggests getting a policy in place to cover different components to cover the town in the future. All were in agreement.

Resilient Roads and Watersheds – Steven Chait

Chait provided information on the upcoming event happening on the June 13, 2019.
