ZONING BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT REGULAR MEETING MINUTES – DRAFT

June 14, 2022

CALL TO ORDER:

Chairman Turner Lewis called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM. Other board members present were Bill Pusey, Kaitlin Stone, Tommy Fox & Thomas Tefft. Tina Blais and John Kuhn were also present.

CHANGES AND/OR ADDITIONS TO THE AGENDA:

None

APPROVAL OF PREVIOUS MEETING MINUTES:

Fox made a motion to accept the minutes from June 14. 2022 as written.  Motion passed 4-0.

NEW BUSINESS: 

Kuhn was in attendance by phone to talk to the board about the possibility of manufacturing Cannabis at 524 Aldrich RD in the future. The board members had some questions as to what the process would be, would there be new construction, and if the road traffic would increase. Kuhn assured the board that there would be minimal traffic, as for the rest he is waiting for the state of VT to set the laws to really be able to plan. Kuhn really just wanted to talk to the Board and find out if there were any town regulations prohibiting business in a rural residential area. Kuhn will stay in contact with the board as the project develops.

OLD BUSINESS:

Blais informed the board that she had been in contact with Nate Stoddard, Adjuster for NEMRC and talked with him about what other towns were doing with their zoning regulations and the increased interest in Air B&B’s and Tiny Houses. Goddard stated that towns are beginning to look into changes but he has only heard of one town, Plymouth, so far that has actually made changes. Blais will contact the town and continue her research.
