Call to Order

The meeting was called to order at 7:13 p.m. Selectboard members Earl Holtz, Lewis Sumner, and Edee Edwards were present, as were School Board members Homer (Chum) Sumner and Kim Tefft. Principal Sandra Pentak-Cohen and Robbin Gabriel were also in attendance.

New Business

Cael Scholarships
Two applications had been received; these were opened and members of both Boards reviewed the contents. Lewis Sumner said Samuel Groves had informed him that this year the Cael fund has $1,070.00 available for awards. Sumner spoke of changes through the years; when the scholarship fund was first established in the 1970s tuition rates were much lower, and interest earnings on the fund appreciably higher. Chum Sumner made a motion to award $500 each to Emily Dow and Jessica Fox; $250 per semester to each student. Edee Edwards seconded the motion, which passed, 5-0. Letters will be sent to the recipients.

Lease Agreement
The Boards briefly discussed leasing of town offices for the coming year, and agreed to have Business Manager Karen Atwood draw up a lease contract for the Halifax Selectboard to review.
