Call to Order

The meeting was called to order at 6:34 pm at the town office. Board members in attendance were Lewis Sumner, Earl Holtz, and Edee Edwards. Selectboard secretary Jessica Bruno also attended.

Personnel Policy Updates

The purpose of the meeting was to update the Halifax personnel policy. The Selectboard used the VLCT model policy as a template, reviewed and discussed the contents, and made the appropriate changes for Halifax.

It was noted that the personnel policy applies to full time and part time employees. It doesn’t cover elected officers, boards and commissions or volunteers.

Items that will need follow up:
-Is a physical exam paragraph needed?
-Clarify VEMERS for elected officials- if an elected official meets the criteria, can they apply for VEMERS?

An additional meeting is required to complete the review of the policy.

Hearing of Visitors

No other visitors were present.
