REGULAR MEETING MINUTES
October 28, 2013

Call to Order

The meeting was called to order at 8:04 am.  Board members in attendance were Lewis Sumner, Earl Holtz, and Edee Edwards.  Others in attendance were Jessica Bruno and Brad Rafus.

New Business
Open Bids for Town Audit

Ron L Beaulieau & Co, Portland, ME- fixed fee audit $9,499 plus federal compliance automated service A-133 $4,999 for a total of $14,498.

Sullivan Powers & Co, Montpelier, VT- $15,000 total.

Pace & Hawley LLC, Montpelier, VT- not to exceed $12,250.

The Selectboard forwarded the technical proposals to the town auditors to review and follow up on references.

Highway Orders

The highway orders were reviewed and signed.

Healthcare Law Benefits and Notifications

Edwards will draft the letters regarding the new healthcare laws for employees and bring for signature. It was also noted that they need to draft a direct agreement with Patricia Dow due to the “employee” definition issues.

Hearing of Visitors

Rafus reported that he found more used guardrail, which will be less than ½ the cost of the new guardrail. He also reported that it is possible they will have delivery of the new truck next week.

Other Business

The 11/6/13 meeting that was scheduled will focus on personnel policy updates. The discussion regarding highway hours and budget will be rescheduled for Saturday November 7, 2013 at 7:30am.
