REGULAR MEETING MINUTES

August 12, 2015

Call to Order

The meeting was called to order at 6:30 pm at the town office.  Board members in attendance were Edee Edwards, Jessica Bruno, Gretchen Becker, and Mary Horne. Seth Geeslin was also present.

Approval of Minutes

Edwards made a motion to accept the minutes of the July 8, 2015 Regular Meeting as written. Horne seconded the motion, which passed 4-0-0.

Vendor/Provider Chart

Becker will upload the vendor/provider chart to the town website soon.

Vendor Updates

VTel- Edwards was told that more antennas are needed. A few people have been able to get service but they may be getting their service from a different tower.

Fairpoint- Becker noted that they may be working on a project in Halifax in late fall but they did not give her any details.

VTA Resiliency Grant- Edwards noted that a meter is going in on Rte 112 so they can begin receiving solar credits. November, 2015 is the deadline for the completion of this project.

Wi-Fi Hotspot Usage

The hotspot is averaging about 3 users per day. The hotspot has gone down a few time due to storms, but not as frequently as it used to.

Misc

The group discussed long distance carriers and fax services.

The group discussed some ideas regarding economic development in Halifax.
