Green Mountain Power – Work Schedule Notice
Work Description
- Green Mountain Power (“GMP”) is working to complete its Zero Outage Initiative and is working with a group of different contractors to complete each road segment.
- Scope of remaining work in Halifax consists of:
New Rebuilds for 2026
GMP has tapered its project plan for this year and ONLY the below sections will be completed.
- Lucier-Thomas Hill-Hale Road by end of June
- Route 112 will begin in June and will have a more specific date – this project is under a VTrans 1111 permit. This is a traditional overhead rebuild, one lane open control.
- Amidon Road and Pennell Hill projects are fully designed/entitled but will NOT be constructed this year, held for future rebuild options.
- Current program closes on 9/30/26
As you may have seen, GMP is finishing up laying down the 4” of gravel to complete the 2025 work. As of May 19th, the Contractor is working with the Halifax Road Supervisor to determine rotation of roads depending on conditions. No road closures during gravel laydown are anticipated. Roads to receive gravel and grading are:
- Jacksonville Stage Road – gravel being installed currently week of 5/18
- Tucker Road – gravel installation completed recently
- Deer Park – gravel being installed currently week of 5/18
- McMillan
- Stowe Mountain Road
- Reed Hill
