SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES

September 15, 2014

The special meeting commenced at 6:35 PM at the Halifax Town Office. Board members in attendance were Lewis Sumner, Earl Holtz and Edee Edwards. Also in attendance was Robbin Gabriel, and later in the evening, John LaFlamme.

Motion to enter executive session

Edwards made a motion to enter into executive session to interview candidates for open Selectboard positions. Holtz seconded the motion, which carried 3-0.

Robbin Gabriel was invited into executive session.

At 7:35 pm, Gabriel left and LaFlamme was invited into executive session.

At 8:23 pm, the board returned from executive session. No decisions were made.

Edwards made a motion to appoint John LaFlamme fulfill all Emergency Management Director responsibilities as the sole appointee (until the next board makes appointments following Town Meeting Day). The motion was amended to have Lewis Sumner act as second pager carrier. Holtz seconded the motion. No additional applications have been received since the co-EMD resigned in June. LaFlamme felt he has been and could continue to successfully fulfill all the EMD position duties. The motion carried 3-0.

The meeting ended at approximately 8:29 pm.
