A quarterly Vermont Yankee Emergency Drill was held at the Halifax Firehouse on Wednesday, October 8^th, 2014. Emergency operations personnel began gathering shortly after 9:00 a.m. Selectboard members Lewis Sumner, Earl Holtz, and Edee Edwards were present, as were Travis Briggs, Leonard Derby, Frank Maltese, Patty Dow, Wayne Courser, Malcolm Sumner, Andy Rice, and Robbin Gabriel. Laura Sumner arrived later in the morning.

During the course of the drill, DisasterLAN site activity was displayed on the projection screen, Holtz maintained the incident board, while Maltese and Lewis Sumner monitored and responded to the radioed incident progression reports. Dosimeters were checked and calibrated by Courser and Malcolm Sumner, distributed by Rice, and read at fifteen-minute intervals by all participants.

The drill was terminated at approximately 1:20 p.m. No Selectboard business was conducted or discussed during or after the exercise.
