SELECTBOARD MEETING MINUTES—DRAFT
SEPTEMBER 18, 2021
CALL TO ORDER:
Sumner called the meeting to order at 10:01 AM. Selectboard members present, either in person or remotely, were Lewis Sumner, Tristan Roberts, Cara Cheyette, Peter Silverberg (by phone). Others in attendance in person or remotely were Keith Stone, Mike Fournier, Earl Holtz, Robbin Gabriel, Chris Parkins, Janice Bliss, Doug and Marilou Parkhurst.
CHANGES OR ADDITIONS TO THE AGENDA:
None.
NEW BUSINESS:
Road Commissioner & Road Supervisor
Discussion took place on timing of filling open positions, and updating job descriptions.
Sumner moved, Roberts seconded, to appoint Mike Fournier as interim Road Supervisor and Road Commissioner effective Sept. 22. Motion passed 4-0. Pay will be same as current positions.
Cheyette to oversee posting of all positions.
Sumner to act as main point person with road crew, road commissioner, and supervisor in ensuring that responsibilities are covered during transitions.
Selectboard Vacancy
Roberts moved and Cheyette seconded to post the vacancy and appoint a person to serve until the March election. Applications would be requested by Oct. 1 for interview in open session at the Oct. 5 Selectboard meeting. Motion passed 4-0.
OLD BUSINESS:
Secretary Job Description and Posting
The procedure for updating the job description and hiring the secretary/admin positions was discussed. Roberts to post job description as draft on website for review by other Board members.
Description to be discussed at Tuesday meeting. Candidate(s) to be interviewed Wed.
Hearing of Visitors
None.
Executive Session
Sumner moved to enter executive session for a personnel matter, seconded by Cheyette. Motion passed 4-0.
Stone and Fournier were invited to attend.
The Board left executive session with no decisions made at 11:25 a.m.
Adjournment
Sumner moved and Cheyette seconded to adjourn. The motion passed 4-0. Meeting adjourned at 11:26 a.m.
