Town Budget and Warning

The Selectboard reviewed several outstanding budget line items, the equipment schedule and new purchases.

Barmen led a discussion about the poor condition of the roads in some areas, and inquired about the state specifications of our gravel. Many members of the public commented on the road conditions.

Allen led a discussion about charging a fee for overweight vehicles as the statistics for who causes the need for maintenance on the roads is largely heavy vehicles. Holtz acknowledged that setting the fee and enforcing the fee would be issues that the Selectboard would have to resolve.

Cheyette led a discussion about the impact of cutting trees next to the road.

M Bartenhagen led a discussion concerning a possible design flaw in the town truck which recently caught on fire. Emissions standards were discussed. The group discussed the decision to purchase a tandem truck.
