OFFICE OF THE SELECTBOARD
Town of Halifax, Vermont
EMERGENCY MEETING MINUTES
June 24, 2013
Call to Order
The Selectboard met at the Town Office, calling the meeting to order at 10:56 am. Present were Selectboard members Earl Holtz, Edee Edwards, and Lewis Sumner. Also present was John LaFlamme.
Co-Emergency Management Directors
The Selectboard signed an extra payment order to include an invoice that was missing at the regular meeting last week. Because it was for grant-funded stipends for Vermont Yankee, and that data is being requested by the state VEM administration today, we had to hold an emergency meeting to issue payment and submit the documentation.
LaFlamme also updated the Selectboard that he is still working on the extension for the repeater grant. He expects a letter at the start of the fiscal year from VEM outlining the full grant picture for the coming year.
Other Business
Holtz updated the Selectboard that there had been a hill slide at Hale Road bridge last Thursday, which damaged the work done to date. The ground is very saturated. The contractor was working on repairs on Saturday. LaFlamme inquired about whether this would increase costs. Edwards inquired about possible shifts in the timeline. Neither is expected at this time, but Holtz will update the Selectboard again at the regular meeting on July 2, 2013.
The Selectboard briefly discussed the upcoming special meeting with the Highway Department, noting that raises have not been discussed yet since the fiscal year has not been closed. Other likely topics to cover with the Highway Department are work schedule and upcoming changes in health insurance.
Adjournment
The meeting adjourned at 11:18 a.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Edee Edwards
Selectboard Chair
