CALL TO ORDER at 1:31 pm
APPROVAL OF MINUTES – minutes from special meeting on July 8, 2025, were approved with minor changes.
CHANGES AND/OR ADDITIONS TO AGENDA – add minor changes to regulations.
NEW BUSINESS
Budget for the fiscal year ending in 2027 (July 1 2026-June 30 2027) – in discussion of the report to the Select Board, the commission discussed overdue marker stones in Halifax Center (more than 3 years post-burial) and Niles (burial last year).
Review of cemeteries –
Trees that may need review – look at Bell-Phelps especially the pines. Are some in the town right-of-way?
Look in May when we put out flags and start clearing saplings.
Contact current mowers should be asked whether they will mow next summer and put out request for bids – in what media? Check with Patty Dow.
Revision of regulations – revise cornerstone specs (allowing 4-inch cubes) and civil fine from $200 to $800.
